My final stint for May into June includes my participation in the final competition of my career, Das Lied, based in Heidelberg and accompanied by my friend and top-notch pianist, Hamish Brown. Whatever happens, we have really enjoyed putting together our programme for the panel and hope you can join in and support us by watching the competition livestreams!
As if this huge programme of 30 different lieder wasn’t enough, I’m also so excited to be joining legendary British pianist Julius Drake at the Langeland Festival in Denmark on the 13th June for a programme of Brahms and Schumann lieder, including Schumann’s infamous setting of “Frauenliebe und Leben”.
I have owned a number of his discs and recordings for years. He’s accompanied so many of my favourite singers and I am really looking forward to collaborating and sharing the stage with such a unique and humble artist.
