To add to the lovely list of upcoming roles this summer, in complete contrast, I’m so excited to be performing the title role in Rossini’s “La Cenerentola” as part of the Edinburgh International Festival’s Creative Learning Opera Project.
I will have the chance to perform this fantastic work to (hopefully!) a youth-based audience who may be hearing opera for the first time. I will also have the opportunity to be interviewed about life as a singer and the world of opera.
Projects such as this were essential in my own introduction to opera years ago, although I didn’t see my first fully staged opera until I was an undergraduate student at RCS, aged 19! I wouldn’t be where I am without them, so I’m delighted to be introducing others to it and to all the EIF has to offer.
